After busting the rust at last week's Intrasquad Meet in Jenison Fieldhouse, the MSU Running Club was ready for some competition besides themselves on Friday at Saginaw Valley.  21 Spartans participated in 11 events and as the night went on, it was clear that the all the miles in the polar vortex and laps inside Jenison were paying off.  4 new women's records were established with the same number on the men's side, not to mention numerous personal bests.

 

Women's 400m - Valerie Morel, 1:07.52

Women's 4x400m - Thompson, McNitt, Casali, Morel, 4:42.3

Women's DMR - Thompson, Dugal, Morel, Schmidt, 13:13.1

 

Men's 60m - Jared Emerson, 7.52

Men's 200m - Jared Emerson, 24.38

Men's 800m - Bennett Prud'homme, 1:59.7

 

     Huge props go out to Tarah Thompson and Jared Emerson, who put up 3 and 2 records respectively throughout the evening.

 

     Other highlights included Shannon Line (6:45) andColin Riley's (4:39) PRs in the Mile, Christina Casali's 3k (11:36, 2nd on club record list),Trent Johnson's 37 second 3k PR (9:36), a solid 5k from Alex Miros (16:33), Lucas Bowman's return to competition (10:45 3k), and not one but BOTH 4x4s taking down MRun.  If the excitement and closeness of those relays is any indication of how this season will go, then you won't want to miss the upcoming club meets:
