Adam Terwillegar

Hello, I'm Adam and I am your President for the 2015-2016 school year! I will be overseeing all club operations to make sure that everything runs smoothly and to be sure that we are providing as many great opportunities for our members as possible. As a fourth year member of the club, I’ve made so many great memories with this group and I wish to help everybody else build amazing memories of their own. My running history goes back quite a few years to when I picked up running in middle school. My friends might say that I have an unhealthy obsession with running, but I say what about running can be unhealthy! I am very involved with the club, so you'll probably see me at every practice and meet. Don't be a stranger, I am a very down-to-earth person and love meeting new people. I am studying Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Polymer Science and Engineering. I am also big into music, both listening and playing. If I'm not in class, eating or running, chances are that I am sitting in my room playing guitar. The club has made college life so very enjoyable for me and I am hoping to extend that to any and all who want to join the running club. Hope to see you around!

MSU RUNNING CLUB OFFICERS

Pat Frahm

Hi-diddly-ho neighborinos!  The name’s Pat, but my nicknames in the club is Fratrick, or Frat for short, and DJ Rico.  You’re stuck with me as your Vice President of Operations this year, so if there’s anything I can do for you, just ask.  I’m also serving as the hurdles, field, and throws coach so if you recruit an athlete for me, I’ll adore you more than Ben Lambert adores wearing spandex short shorts.  Running Club is basically my family down at MSU, so I’m always working on making the club a better place for everyone in it.  I run cross country in the fall and in the winter/spring I high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, throw discus, run hurdles, and even do the occasional sprint/steeple chase.  I like long runs on the beach, romantic candlelit runs, running on rose petals, and Adam Terwillegar’s hair.  I’m a mechanical engineering major in the Honor College and I work at an internship over at Dart Container (they make red Solo cups).  I also work as a DJ for E&J Entertainment and have DJed more weddings and running club “social gatherings” than I can remember.  In terms of my running history, I did cross country and track, in which I did high jump, long jump, and hurdles.  If you’re just thinking about Running Club and you’re not sure, trust me when I say that it’s going to be the most fun you’ve had with your short shorts on.  Down at MSU, I’m also involved with Spartans Fighting Cancer, St. John’s Men’s Group, and MSU Men’s Glee Club.  When I’m not doing running club stuff, piles of homework, or scaring young children with the tales of Skurds-The Dirty One, I love to sing and play guitar.  If you see a tweet from @MSU_RC, it’s probably me.  If I can do anything to help you out, do not hesitate to ask!

Christina Casali

Hey, I’m Christina and I’m your Vice President of Administration! As V-Admin, I get to take care of all communications, recruitment, and membership details. I also get to help Adam and Pat with training plans and overseeing club functions. I have been running for 7 years, or 7.5 if you count my experiments with sprinting/throwing in eighth grade. I joined cross country in 9th grade on a whim and it was the best decision I’ve ever made (besides joining running club)! At MSU I am double majoring in Materials Science Engineering and Kinesiology with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering. When I’m not running or doing homework you can probably find me doing shenanigans with running club people, fooding, napping, being sassy or watching hockey! Anyway, I have nothing but love for this club and I can’t wait to start another great year!

About me:

Jess O'Brien

Hey everyone, I’m Jess and I’m your apparel coordinator. I’m in charge of keeping us all looking snazzy in MSURC apparel. I’m the person to talk to if you find your closet lacking in green and white (or a running club uniform-no wardrobe is complete without one of those!) I started running during track season of my junior year in high school, and I’ve been in love with it ever since. I ran cross country and track during my senior year, and joined running club the first week of freshmen year at MSU. This club has easily been the most positive experience of college for me, and I can’t imagine spending my last year at state doing anything else. I’ll be graduating in spring 2016 with an honors college degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Biomechanical Engineering. When I’m not running or in class you can probably find me working (I have a job in the ISE/ISB department on campus, as well as at Playmakers), cuddling my pet lizard (her name is Almond), practicing guitar, or attempting to longboard.  I can’t wait for more running club fun this year!

About me:

Annie Grove

Hola, I am Annie Grove and I am the Social Coordinator for MSU Running Club. I help with recruiting and coming up with fun things to do to make running club more fun. I ran cross-country for five years until the fall of my junior year of high school when I decided to row. I just started running competitively again when I joined Running Club last year and I realized how much I had missed it. Besides being a part of Running Club, I am majoring in International Relations in James Madison College and minoring in Spanish. When I am not running I can normally be found singing-along to Frozen, baking, sun-burning, or watching funny videos of animals on youtube (especially elephants!). I have met many wonderful people in Running Club and hope to make everyone’s experience as great as mine has been. I look forward to meeting you all!

About me:

I’m Jonathan; I will be your travel coordination for the 2015-2016 school year. This means that I am responsible for making arrangements for any type of travel that we do as club. My job is doing everything from arranging cars to booking hotels and even finding places to eat when we are traveling. I’m from a small city right outside of Detroit called Huntington Woods. I am majoring in Social Relations and Policy in the James Madison College. I ran my first couple road races when I was in 6th grade, joined my middle school cross country team the very next year, and have been running competitively every since. I showed up to the first running club practice of the year when I was a freshman and fell in love with it. When I’m not running, you’ll find me playing basketball on our club’s IM basketball team or putting off schoolwork in other creative ways. I’d love to get to know you over the coming year and am here to help you with all things MSU Running.

Paul Salach

Hey I’m Paul, and I am the club treasurer for the 2015-2016 school year.  I am an Applied Engineering Sciences major with concentrations in Packaging and Supply Chain and will be a junior in the coming school year.  I’ve been running cross country and track since 7th grade, and haven’t stopped since.  I also enjoy playing basketball in my free time and enjoy participating in other IM sports such as flag football and soccer.  Coming to MSU I wanted to continue to compete and get faster, but knew I probably wasn’t fast enough to walk on to the varsity team.  MSU Running Club has given me that opportunity with grueling workouts and long runs as well as competitive club and small college track and cross country meets.  The club has a nice balance of competitive and social runners, and is a great way to meet new people.  Having a group to go to dinner, football games, and other social events with at the beginning of my college career definitely made the transition from high school to college much easier.  Running Club has been one of the major highlights of my college experience thus far, and we look to provide that same experience to newcomers this coming school year.  See you this fall!

Jessica Siegler

Hi, I’m Jessica and I am your fundraising coordinator! Basically I organize different events to make money for our club! I am a sophomore and love MSU! I have been running cross country since 6th grade and track since 7th.   I absolutely love everything running related, but I also enjoy gymnastics, soccer, and equestrian. I am so excited for this coming year to see our club grow even more and have some great times! Running club is a fabulous place to meet new people and be able have running buddies! It is nice because you can continue to run competitively if you wish or you can just come to practices to stay in shape. I can’t wait to meet even more people through running club so come on down and say hello!

About me:

Natalie Whise

Hi, I’m Natalie, and I’m the running club webmaster. As webmaster, I run this website and make sure that all of the information is accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, I do some work on the club Instagram account. This will be my ninth year running competitively and my first year as an officer. I’m honored to be on the board of such an amazing organization. I joined the club last year at the request of one of my former high school cross captains who happened to be the club VP at the time. I figured that I would test the waters of collegiate club running and see where they took me. I fell in love with the friendships I made on the club and cherished the ability to race again.  Here at State, I’m majoring in the History, Philosophy, and Sociology of Science with Lyman Briggs. My two passions are running and writing, and when I’m not doing either of those, I’m hanging with friends, reading, eating, playing volleyball, or trying to catch some sun. All in all, I’m looking forward to what these next 3 seasons bring, and I can’t wait to share them with you!
